AIME Transactions available online

Before there was SPE, there was AIME -- the American Institute for Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers. In 1957, SPE became independent from AIME, which eventually became four separate societies. Historically, AIME published Transactions volumes that included all of the papers from the meetings of the AIME societies.

AIME has recently digitized Volumes 1-247 of the Transactions, covering 1871-1970, in a searchable pdf format. The Transactions are being made available free of charge to members of the AIME societies, including SPE. Access to the Transactions is available from the Members Only area of the SPE website and requires login. All of the oil and gas-related papers from the Transactions are included in the eLibrary and OnePetro.
